Some of those involved in ATA’s Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, on October 25, 2017, described our experience in Washington DC in October in this article for the ATA Chronicle.
Along with two Coloradoan colleagues, Eve Lindemuth Bodeux and Matt Baird, I lobbied on behalf of translators and interpreters at the Capitol Hill offices of our Senators Michael Bennett and Cory Gardner, and our Representatives (Ken Buck for me, Jared Polis for the others).
As first-timers, we were given training on how to take a meeting of this nature and to present the three position papers that had previously been prepared. The staffers we met were receptive to our ideas. This was a great initiative.

I would love to hear from you!
