Karen will give her training Take Charge: Develop Your Technical Style Set as a webinar for the Alexandria Library in May. At the time of writing, there are still spaces available.

Date: May 5, 2015
Time: 9:00 MDT, 17:00 CEST (find out what your local time will be here)
Duration 75 minutes

DESCRIPTION

In the early stages of their careers, technical translators too often follow inconsistent, incorrect or outdated usage and style in source texts, instead of taking control and producing translations that are consistent and follow modern usage guidelines for the field. Producing stylistically-correct translations adds value for clients and can make the difference in cracking higher segments in the translation market. This webinar will include a “how-to” for attendees to create a personal style set for any specific technical field, based upon authorities such as standards, key industry bodies and style guides. Using a reference like this quickly becomes routine and has the benefit of making us more of an authority on that field. This gives us the confidence to defend our choices to our clients when necessary. Attendees should leave with a stepwise plan for creating their style sheet. There will be ample time for questions.

I would love to hear from you!
